Gun model

Hey guys,

I'm modeling an M4 for an future mod of mine, But I have a question,
Does someone know how much polygons a gun can be approxemiatly
I'm know on 2000, pretty high I think but someone told me around 2000 should be fine but I need more answers to be sure

If it's a rifle, I would say go for 2500-3000 polys.

i would say at least 2800-3200 if u want it to look good in half life 2

obviously not. but keep in mind what animation will the weapon be given. it seems stupid, but keep in mind what will the model do and STICK TO IT. or you're fu'ored in no time
