We don't want to be one of those mods that thrives on attention and tries to look like a legitimate developer, so I'll keep it as short as I can.
A little about the mod:
In short, it's a multiplayer and singleplayer mod with the mp centered on gameplay blended from games such as GTA and BF1942 in a semi post-apocolyptic setting. SP could be considered more like the origional Deus Ex as far as gameplay goes, but the setting remains the same.
Right now we're hard at work coding what we have pet-named "The Fueled Engine". Basically, HL2 doesn't do Source any justice out of the box for the type of gameplay we're after. So we're writing the base engine for it. Things like the ability to use anything as a weapon, truely dismemberable bodies, dynamic deformation of all vehicles etc. So far so good. We've got a basic premise for the game mechanics and even in it's infancy it's a hell of a lot of fun to play.
It's worth noting that we're approaching our development process less like game developers and more like software developers. We've adopted what we call a "public development model". Simply put, when we have an internal testbuild, you have an internal testbuild. For multiplayer at least. There are pros and cons doing it this way, but we think it will be alot more fun and keep us more motivated. We're about 2 to 3 weeks away from starting our public development, but as soon as we post the first testbuild up for download, all registered users of our site (no silly email varification registration of any funny tricks) will be able to download builds as they are compiled.
Our website still has some touchup work to be done, but it's fully functional and there is a pretty cool video of some gameplay shot about a week ago you can check out.
