H-L2 Visuals not a let down (2meNEway)

I know some people were expecting more than they got from the 7 released bink videos, I've noticed though,

1) Everybody knows this one, no AA
Anti-Aliasing has made many games look much better, without improving graphics one iota, so it's a shame they didn't show these vids with it enabled, it would be all-round smoother etc,

2) Anisotropic Filtering
I noticed this firstly on the docks video, it was just turning the textures into mush, I've been seeing better sharpness with all other games I'm playing now because of AF, so that is another shock in the wrong direction.

Fortunatly you can enable these yourself once you are playing the game and not watching the video, when I though about these two factors making the video worse, I noticed some amazing things which unless moving around the world myself I may not normally notice, here's a screen shot:

Watch the powdery white type of dust seeming to hang around the window, and how gloomy that corner looks, plus that several layers of detail in just the wall
