Hey there!

I'm a huge H2G2 Fan and I was sooo excited when I heard the movie is done and comes someway during may (at least, in the US, here in Germany I probably have to wait some more...)

But then, I surfed to hitchhikersmovie.com and saw some of the cast and concept art, and I was a bit disappointed with their decisions...

For instance, Mos Def as Ford Prefect, c'mon, I mean, in every novel / comic adaption and even the orig radio series, I thought Ford was a white man (not that I have anything against black ppl, don't want to look like a racist now... :/)

And, the Heart of Gold is a giant sphere, whereas in the book it's described to be "shaped like a running shoe"... and MARVIN, god, he looks like a toy robot in the movie:

clicky!

....or am I overreacting? ;)

I think Marvin looks damned cool. :D I too always pictured Ford as a white man (or more specifically, a young Christopher Lloyd dressed up like Doctor Who), but I got over it. We'll just have to wait and see. :)

They have ruined Marvin, i suppose, as long as his character hasn't been changed.

I have Marvin on my desktop right now. And the plan is for the trailer to come out this week.

he has to have curly hair. He just has to.

<edit> dear god, he's bald. I'm just going to shoot myself now.

Thats how I picture Slartibartfast. Ford was just seems to be described as looking almost normal, but not quite.

Who cares what the actor looks like? As long as the dude can portray the role, it'll be great.

I thought Mos Def was a fine choice.

Supposedly he does a decent job in the role, so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
