Jeez. They've had the source / beta / code what ever since last week. And since then I've seen more screen shots of the "supposed" HL2 then ever. More videos, more screens, more info. We now know of TF2, a CS inclusion of some sort. I mean, the hackers wrongfully took what is rightfully Valves, but this stuff has got me more hyped than anything Valve has shown me so far. Anyone else feel the same?

and because of those hackers we wont be seeing HL2 anytime soon, ass

dont blame the hackers, blame Valve. hackers are always trying to hack high profile companys, its what they do. unfortunately a certain company have shit for brains when it comes to internet security and protecting their software.

You aren't very bright are you?

Brighter than both you and bate18 times 10. :) I think they missed the point of what I was saying guys. Any others care to talk with me about this feeling I'm having?

hey sunbeam! you play deus ex? i love that game :p
maybe valve should hire the hackers, finish the game and sell it FAST

Since when has a hacker made a meaningful contribution to society? In my experience, they only steal and/or ruin what they find on other people's computers.

If you meant hackers are doing a better job of being in the public eye, HL2 will be more outspoken then this ever was when it is released. After that, it will be played for years while this stupid bs will be forgotten all but to network/software security people.

I am excited about TF2 being included with HL2. Is there a thread about that by the way that I missed?

Yes ... and now because of these "wonderful" hackers, we won't be seeing the complete, fully-functional Half-Life 2 we've all been dying to see until April 2004! No support, no patches, bugs, unworking features ... yeah ... that's great. Thanks fellas! Thanks a lot!!

lol dude

That's like saying; Don't blame rapists, raping women is what they do. Blame the women for wearing tight clothes and walking around alone.

pls people, think before posting.

Not a very bright post at all. Think before you write something.

Cool... so when I break into your car and rape its contents, we can all just sit back and laugh at you for leaving it vulnerable.

"Hey, he's the idiot with pick-able locks and glass windows!"

I didn't realize that crime was okay as long as it's just an act of exploit.

Idiot.

Wow you guys are total fu.cking idiots. Feel free to read not only the TOPIC , but what I had to say as well. I was simply saying, that now that its been leaked we're getting more info than Valve ever gave us. More screens, more details, secrets. We shouldnt be in the dark all the time. Im not supporting what the hackers did by any means, Im just saying we finally have some new info to oogle over. And the game will not be coming out in April you gossipheads, it will be out holiday season.

(To answer your question -if that's still legal in this topic-)

I couldn't care less actually. I decided to buy the game months ago. And that's all there is to it. At least for me it is. These hacks don't make me 'want the game more'. When it's out, I'll buy it.

Many gamers respected Valve's wishes to keep the game under wraps, unlike say, Warcraft III where everyone knew what every single unit looked like before it was even beta. There was no hidden joy in getting the better units, just "ok I got this one now". That kind of suspense makes games great.

There is no reason to believe that TF2 will ship in the same box as HL2.

Why do they keep the source in the same place?
... because both games run on the same engine.

They most likely keep the TF2 and HL2 engine code in the same folders so that any updates to the Source engine will automatically affect both of the games.

What other reason would make them compile to a HL2.exe and a TF2.exe rather than just putting TF2 in as a mod of HL2?

In the Steam Counter-Strike folder, what is the name of the executable file?
HL.exe

I rest my case.
