got banned from our university network cuz ppl played it so much it brought down the servers 2x within a week. The cables literally got fried.

I still want to know why the hell people play that game, the gameplay sucks, the graphics suck and you have to pay monthly. WTF!

imagine if kids where near the cables, they would hav died!

someone call jack thompson!

Why would a game bring down your school's servers?

These days we play CS:CZ, AoM and NFSMW a lot around here, but with wireless LANs so nothing gets fried..

Your uni network must seriously suck if the cable fried. That, or there are a LOT of nerds at your uni. :D

I'm thinking that's a bit of an exaggeration. . but i know this kind of thing happened at my friend's college during the Warcraft III days

oh, well, if they're pentium 3's, i could see them exploding or something from half the dorms running the thing.

hahaha this is true.

I remember back when ppl were like "OMG 700MHZ!!! THAT'S TEH AMAZING"

good times, good times.

This is all heresay and conjecture anyhow.

I've played WoW on 56k for god sakes and it was playable. Don't tell me a bunch of WoW idiots brought down your school's network.

It was probably just torrents

...I agree with that other guy, what is so popular about WoW? I mean, I played it for a little bit, (Who HASN'T played it?) And it was just kill level up kill with bad quests in between. I prefer playing battlefield 2 for 12 hours a day then WoW for 1 hour.
(?)

im curious to how the school came to the conclusion that WoW users caused it. lol it just doesnt seem like it would to me.

Haha! Thas awsome. In the internet cafe at my college it's the same deal. Everyone is either playing WoW or on myspace :dozey:
