Alreeeet HL2.netters???

Right, i was just wondering what type of waxes you guys use for your hair?

Im currently using D:FI cream (which is kinda crap), and wanted some ideas for a decent wax so that when the wind blows, it doesnt get blown out after a while.
Ive looked at Dax (which is basically superglue!) and i think thats too strong. Im looking for a wax that has a matt effect, so my hair doesnt look like its constantly wet. Or does blowdrying it a bit after applying wax get rid of some of the shine?

And yes, im kinda new to the whole shorter hair thing :dork:

Oh yeah, and its for the UK so you know, and shop names would also help :smoking:

I personally don't like wax. Try to find something else. Like fiber molding gel which doesn't make your hair look like it's constantly wet and is a bit more pliable. Gel and wax are for amateurs. An product that is a mix of those 2 is what you want to find. Some lean more towards wax and some more towards gel, so find what you like and remember to add lots of hair spray or else your hair is gonna get messed up bad in the wind.

BTW the stuff I use is called Fiber by American Crew but I doubt it is also in the UK.

Spit and goats... happy juice.
I'm sure Pantenne do it.

I think I'm having the same issues as you, or at the very least not able to find the right product.

My hair is extremely thick and grows really fast, and it doesn't seem to like anything I throw at it. Today is a good day though :D - too bad I don't know why or what I did.

I don't know, I'm like you in the sense that I don't want my hair to be/look wet, but it's so thick that I need to put something in it or it'll look like I just came out of the shower all day (in terms of messyness).

I used Shockwave styling wax. I've heard beeswax is very good.

Just cut your hair shorter ;)

you would think that i would know seeing as i use it every morning....ughhh...ill let you know later

Just bout some Tony&Guy paste from Boots so will see how that goes tomorrow morning.

Theres a shite load of selection to choose from, i cant believe some are better than others.

Hair products are a pretty good business to be in I'd say. Non-perishable (mostly) and expensive products that most people will use for their entire lives.

Not bad at all

Use the cheap no-frills wetlook gel from tesco. Don't use much either, just splash some on your hands, run it through your hair, add a bit of a messy style to it ... and off you go.

Ummm...I don't put anything in my hair but water and shampoo..\=

I just don't want my hair to have that wet look really. It just seems so un-original and routine.

I don't even necessarily mean the extreme wet look, ie: guido look, ie: http://www.leehotti.com/

I think I've seen your hair and you don't need it. It looks fine without.

A lot of others, myself included...not so much.

I use some Switchtrix "wax-gel combo" At first I thought it was way too expensive ($15 for a 3.4oz/100ml can) but I bought 2 (buy one get one) 6 months ago and I'm just about to finish off the first one :P

I like it because it doesnt give me the wet-hair look and I can actually shape my crazy-thick hair pretty well - at least within the first two weeks of me getting it cut. After that it's just damage control. My hair grows WAY too fast.

Wow...this Tony&Guy Paste is literally like chalk to get out. Rubbing it together in your hands gets it applicable, but bugger me its weird.

Think i need something like Fudge or a cream based wax instead.

BAAL, i clicked that link and laughed my friggen ass off, good job

Well, I guess I'll take that as a compliment. :)

Sainsbury's blue stuff...firm-hold wet look i think...or maybe thats the other one o.O

Anyway that is what i use and i love it :D

Though hair is too short atm to do anything with =/

you want Brylcream strong wax. They do wax in a variety of strenghts. The strong wax works really well and doesnt make your hair look wet. Doesnt cost much either.

My hair just grows outward, so it really dosent hold styling very well (as in about 3-4 hours after being gelled it goes back to how it was of its own accord). I just let it grow out for a bit then cut it with the 3mm attachment on me clippers.

Shockwaves is generally pretty good, specially their molding putty - use that in combination with hairspray ftw :D

Never found anything i liked so its just water for me now. :P
