Half black half on lights problem

Im having problems with my lights. I have a long straight away with a jeep and about ten lights. For awhile, they worked fine. But now, the first 7 are producing no light at all. and the last 3 are. it happend after i gave the lights names and tryed to set up a trigger to turn on one. And thats when my lights went dead. So i deleted the trigger and it still did it.I am running all the options in the compile dialog, my map has NO leaks as said by the pointfile. And my other lights work fine. I also get these errors when compiling:

Apon seeing those errors, i though i should devide my long strip into pieces to make more polys to apply lights to. And it still does not work. well, im trying to release the new version of my map. But with this problem it is making it very hard. also, the lights have no verying styles. Thanks for the help!
 
Update: I replaced one of the lights and it worked. But the others still didnt. So then i made the chenges i did before, giving the light a name and then making a trigger to deactivate it. And then it went right back to not working! anybody know whats going on?
 
You can only have a set max number of lights effecting a single surface. I don't know what the limit is in Source but it was around 8 i think in HL1
 
Ok, thanks. Im going to try removing some of the lights untill it works.
 
It only works with 3 for me. 3 for a long hallway.... Make them very bright? lol. Would anyone happen to know a work around for my problem?

You could try texture lighting. Though only 3 lights isn't very good.. You could always shrink the size of the brushes used and use more instead of long ones. That might help somewhat.
 
Yeah, but i divided the pieces by cutting them with the clip tool. Each light is a new poly. And im still getting the problem. Does the clipping tool not work for that? also, for the trigger im setting up that will deactivate 3 light, then turn on 3 other red. The editor counts the 3 extras, even though they are set to "initially dark" and gives my the error. Whats wrong? Should i manually make the slabs?

I think there's your problem, all those lights. They might be switched off but they still need to be calculated for them to show up when you turn them on.

No don't have time to check map files like that, sorry :)
 
All the lights i got rid of are deleted. not turned off. Err. im not sure what you mean, could you clarify?
