forgot to say the graphics card i have right now is a crappy radeon x550 256 mb

shit son! my dads got that fan... cost him like 50 bux! very quite and very good though... as for your graphics card, im in the same delema, im looking into an Nvidia 7600GT 256Mb GDDR Apg8x... sounds good and for agp its pretty pricey considering apg is almost completely out of date... Id say look in to a 6800GT or if thats still to much for you to spend... um... i dont know, i dont know anything about ATI, im an Nvidia fan for absolutely on reason at all, i like there logo :D

Not too many decent AGP cards around but the 6800GT is a decent card and quiet. As far as HSF goes I do have and like my ZALMAN and its very quiet.

Good Luck.

so what? are you saying the 7600GT is not as good as 6800 Gt, cuz if thats the case i need to look around some more...

his point was agp isnt really a huge interface anymore so good agp cards will be hard to find. also the 6800gt and 7600gt on similar but the 7600gt is faster, but not by much. also both of those cards dont really have many manufactueres so you might have a hard time finding it. other then those 2 choices there is a 7800gs for around $250 usd

Thanks Giant. Some of us just read half a sentence. I hope he got it now.

I just said "6800GT is a decent card" But I never have compare it with any other card.

well the cards i listed above are preety much your best bet. also i forgot about the radeon x850xts i heard they were running preety cheap now.

I would take neither.

Card #1

1) Its the first SLI supported AGP Card I ever saw.
2} Its got 560MHz core (Which could be also exaggerated like the SLI thing) and only 12 Pixel-Pipelines to work with.
3) 1400MHz memory speed and the 256MB, 128bit GDDR3, somehow don't add up.
4) system requirement states; All of the above mentioned Card Spec could be fired up with a 300w PSU? (Meaning; The card could be inferior than specified)

Please get the facts before you purchase card #1. I'm not satisfied with stated card specifications therefore would call up NewEgg or keep on looking.

Card #2

1) An open BOX. I hate open boxes. Its not virgin anymore.

Shop some more and post what you found.

Good Luck.

the cooler is 2 slot on the 6800gt though if that could be a problem. honestly i would still choose the 7600gt over it, but you can get the 6800gt if you want. its all up to you there is not a huge difference between them.

there so far the best Nvidia agp cards that are around my buget ( about 170US bux ) If there are any good or better cards some links would be nice cuz i really have no idea what im looking for.

odd, they have the same card and it says it not open box and vise-versa however they are the same price... i think some one is lieing ( not you guys )

The X550 is similar to the X1600 Pro depending on the speeds that specific card uses.
It's the fastest card in this list of half height cards. All the other cards I know of that are faster are full-height, not half height.

That CPU fan is a good one. Cools well at low noise levels. I wouldn't have any big plans of OCing though. And make sure it will fit. Sometimes things on the board or in the case will get in the way. Check zalmans website if there is a motherboard compatibility list.

the x550 isnt even close to the x1600pro. the site you listed only compares x600

Oops! you are correct. I put a 1 infront of X600. lol
Still, I doubt you'd find anything worth upgrading to over what you have that is half-height. Unless they made a 6600 card.
