Half Life 1: GOTY Edition internet help

When I got Half Life GOTY edition ages ago I didn't have internet access. Now I do I have installed HL1, Counter Strike, Oposing Force and Team fortress Classic to my new computer.

They run perfectly fine but I don't have the technical know-how to get myself online with these games.

I'd really like to give TFC a good practice for when TF2 comes out.

I have a 5mb BT Broadband connection so, can anyone help me? Please.

Given your signatures it's funny that both of you are wrong.

seanyc, download Steam (http://www.steampowered.com/) and create an account. once it's up and running, find the 'activate an existing cd key' button and type in your cdkey, it should unlock everything.

Steam came out after you bought the GOTY i expect, but it's required for online play now. You can uninstall the current games, they will be reinstalled through Steam (downloaded though). I'm not sure if you can transfer your existing installation. I might remember being able to do so but I installed Steam years ago and so I'm not sure.

I already have steam but didn't know about the CD Key bit. Thank you.
I also sorted out my firewall which was hindering me somewhat.

Played Conter Strike: Source for the first time yesterday. Boy what fun!
