Will Half Life 2 work with the Intel Extreme Graphics 2 82865G Integrated Video?

(I also have 512 MB Ram, 80 GB hard drive, and 2.8 P4 processor)

Thanks.

should but i don't think you can have it all high an all

It should work, don't expect particularily many frames per second though. I'd really consider investing in a better graphics card since the rest of your computer is quite good.

what about the radeon 9200? How well will that run Half Life 2.

I'd say you should get at least a 9600 to really enjoy HL2. While a 9200 will be an improvement, it would probably not be worth it.

i run on a 9100 (basicly a 8500 with more memoryand maybe a directx 8.1 surrport) i can get all high with 1024x768 res (until the battle scenes like follow freeman and anti-citzen one) and about 45fps but i think it becasue i have a gig of ram
so the 9200 should have slight more performace

also just as a note the comparsion between 8.x to 9.0x is unnoticable on many levels including shadows and water
so if you have the ram the 9200 would be the a good choice (at the moment) for playing hl2
if not the higher end video card may yeild more results
hl3 being at least 3 years away would more likly push twards a 9600 or 9800 for a "must have"

9600XT is great, smooth frame rates, high quality, dx9.

DO NOT GET INTEL EVEER!!! Too expensive and underpowered, i got a AMD 64 3200+ for 150 bucks! Thats a 3.2 gig Pentium 4 basically.

ATI is ok for medium to higher powered stuff, good deals. But in the future if you want badass stuff that will last 2-4 years and still be very high powered, go for the Nvidia GeForce 6800 series.

Ive got a AMD 2600+. 6800 gefore, and a gig or RAM. It plays hl2 and css better than my 2.8p4 9800 pro 256 with 512 of ram.
if your going to get a card do go with the 6800 series.

I run the 9200 with a 2.0 celeron (crap) and 512 ddram...a little lag when the action gets rough but setting are all high and medium and I haven't tried tweaking it yet........I would listen to the above and go with the GeForce......
