Half-Life 2 cancelled? Best Buy says yep

Went to Best Buy today and asked, like I have many times before, what the release date was for Half-Life 2. The clerk said, "Oh, that's been cancelled."

I asked him over and over if he was sure..he was adamant that it had been cancelled due to the fact that the Source code was stolen and "they" (Valve) lost too much information for them to save the game. :rolling:

Anyways...after a near heart attack and some tears, I figured that the guy didn't know what he was talking about.

You don't suppose the clerk was right, do ya? Do you think Valve would cancel the game when it's this close to release?
