Half life 2 CE edtion coming december for europe

oke i preorderd my half life 2 CE a couple month ago.
when i came back at the website to see if there update some news and i was shocked it was standing there that ir will come out in 10 december well so browsed further to other site, wich said that it will come 2 december. so have any of you guys have some info regarding these.

Of course not. They get far more revinue for Steam sales. Which is the best reason for buying through Steam,.

I saw some stuff about it being on December 5th, but im not positive.

But why are all of you so against Vivendi? They're one of the better publishers that Ive seen, letting the developers work at their own pace, and aren't so bent on getting the game out the door as quickly as possible. It was kind of slimy of valve not to inform the publisher on their intent of making heavy profits by selling through steam. If I was a publisher, I'd be pretty damn pissed off that the development team I was working with has decided to release the game online as well, heavily detracting from my own retail sales.

Selling online is a good idea overall though, and would take out the need for independent publishers, consequently making games cheaper and probably of a higher quality with the team working at their own pace. If the developers made enough money, they could ship copies to retail stores for those that need to have a hard copy of the games.

I live in New Zealand and I went into EB games today and they said the collectors edition would be coming out on the 16th Nov over here. this better be true because I changed my regular edition preorder to the CE version

Here in Holland retailers are changing the dates for the ce to december 10th. This sucks! Vivendi must know that the hardcore fans either want to buy through steam or own the ce. No way I am going to wait another month to play hl2. The normal game will be in the stores at the normal date. My retailer haven't heard any confirmation yet from the distributor. If it's true they will be very disappointed in vivendi aswell and they are thinking about a way to come forward to the people who preordered the ce. I hope this means getting the original game the 16th and the rest in december.
Still, I can't believe a company like Vivendi. Their policy sucks.

That would be VUG, not VALVe. VALVe want you to get it over steam, and this is why, VUG suck big time.
