Hey there!

I have installed Halflife 2 on my old crappy Laptop; 1.2 Ghz 16 megabyte videom memory.. its incredible halflife 2 even works.. now to the best part, its almost free from lags if i have the lowest settings on the visual effects..

anyone know a command for the console the improves my game (lowers the visual settings) so my games dont lag anymore.. its almost lag free but i want the final command that makes it lag free.. PLEASE help me^^

the things that make the game lag is the sise of the surroundings (when im outside and sees allthe buildings it lags a little bit) if that helps you to know what command i need to write in the console to improve the preformance..

If igot some help i would apreciate it very much!

Sorry, I don't know of a particular cfg that would be good for low settings. Try googling for 'HL2 low performance autoexec' or 'HL2 low settings cfg' or something like that.

Also, check out this section of the HL2 settings guide at Tweakguides.com. It's the bit which refers to all the console commands you can use, and gives you quite a thorough overview of each console command and how it affects graphics vs. performance. It's a bit of work for you, but you can try and make an autoexec.cfg file based on stuff you read there.

If it's to do with how the game runs outdoors then maybe look for a 'drawdistance' command which will help you out with the final bit of performance.
