Every time i start steam i dont get any errors and single player runs great but when i go into half-life 2 deathmatch the intro loads then when the menu comes up the screen goes black ive tryed -w 640 and all the other shitand nothing works. does anyone no what to do?

Im running a toshiba satellite.

1.7 Duo
1.0 gb ram
123 gb hardrive
128 mb graphics

And i have directx 9.0

I happend to be having the exact same error, same problem, singleplayer works fine aswell, did you find any fixes?

I do not have exactly the same problem, but on my PC the singleplayer games, HL2 and Ep 1 also works fine, but HL2 Deathmatch also gives problems.

I can go in and create a game, but while it says loading world it kicks me out of the game and gives the message "Unable to load authentication library. Exiting HL2 Deathmatch"

So what's it with Deathmatch if the others are working?

Sorry for the double, thought I was only previewing... I'm a real dumbass;(

No.

I havent found anything yet but im still looking.

I am having the same problem woldgang.

When you move your mouse around the screen are there some areas of the screen that sound is played?

Yes.

Yep thats exactly what mine does still i have no idea how to fix it.

I have the same problem also on a tosh sat pro laptop. It seems that the way the menu is overlaid on screen in deathmatch is different and causes problems.

I've updated to the latest display driver on the tosh website and tried all host of options in the driver but no luck.
