seems adandtech is saying that some 9800xt's are already in certian stores (he doesnt give links or names) if thats the case, (and assuming that all XT cards will have half life 2 included) pretty much shows half life is already done. now If I could only get a link to one of those stores..

"Other ATI related news; the 9800SE and 9800XT lines are starting to hit store shelves at certain vendors. Unfortunately, a lot of information is still under NDA, but you can assure yourselves we will have more to come!"

yea the se is old, but there are a few diffrent versions of it, so they could be talking about one of those.

This seems very doubtful to me... If anything it's a 'get Half-Life 2 for free' with this coupon :)

yep, webmaster of rivastation.de (german board but very close with tomshardware) said in his forum, that there is just a HL2 coupon inside until the game is released.

cool, maybe we'll see some benchmarks for the XT soon

yes, from buyers, but hardware sites im sure are still under a NDA,so they won't be able to put them up till ati says ok.

How does he know?

He got his hands on the HL2 Benchmark (as I said, he is close with Tomshardware.com) and with that several informations about it. Just like Anand and others. No reason not to believe him. He never lied about anything.

Ooh...whilst we're on the subject do we know if the NDA is gonna be lifted before the 30th or is it definitely only at 0:00 Sept 30th 2003 ?

The inquirer http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=11223 ,which is the only site I found talking about 9800xt performance, said that 9800xt(r360) scores 7000+ in 3D Mark03
Considering that it says the truth, and 9800 pro scores 5000-5800 @ default settings(1024x768@32 bit), I think the difference must be very noticable
And if the new chip is not only an overclocked 9800 and features new things like let's say P.S 3 it must be trully a killer thriller .
