Half Life 2 Elevator Bug -- HELP!!!

I recently purchased the orange box on steam and instsalled Half Life 2. I get to the part at "point insertion" where alyx saves me from the guards. She calls an elevator and it opens, but she just stands there like an idiot. I've tried validating the game, saving/loading inside the elevator. Does anyone have any ideas. Its incredibly frustrating. I'm running the game in Vista 64 bit.

You could try reinstalling the game, but from what you've said I really don't know what else you could do :/

the fixes i would try and in their order;

1) start one save before of that part
2) skip that part
3) reinstall game
4) reinstall game, video drivers, sound drivers, etc
5) reinstall XP

I'm running the game on the same OS as you. The save/load method worked for me every time that happened, not just with Alyx. I recommend you try it again.
