Hello, everyone.
I have had audio-stuttering problems with HL2, which seem to have gotten much better with the recent update and some modifications I made to my cfg files. That's not what this post is about though. I did not used to get this error; now I do, and I don't know any discernable changes I've made.
It happens now about 90% of the times I save, but not universally.
HL2 quits and gives me the following engine error: IDirect3ddevice9:resent()
Any ideas? Otherwise I will just have to play like a hardcore gamer, and save only when I'm about to log off. I have autosaving disabled. Quicksaving also results in the same crashing problems.
Specs: (don't laugh - it runs well on low / med settings)
Laptop:
3.02 GHz P4
256 MB DDR 333 MHz
60gb 7200 RPM HDD
random junk mobo
GeForce4FX 5200Go 64 mb
shitty AC97SigmaTel onboard audio
Thanks,
legend
