Ok, from what I understand this is a common issue. I'm hoping there is a common fix, lol. Anyway, when playing the game it will suddenly freeze up with a sound looping over and over. Here's what I've found:
-It only happens in-game
-I hear my hard-drive's rpm's drop for a second, hear a click, and then the HD goes back to normal operation. A few seconds after I hear this noise, the game crashes.
-When I restart, speaker settings are set to 2 speakers instead of the 5.1 I set them at
Now, I've already moved my soundcard up to a higher PCI slot with the same results. Playing with no sound really isn't an option. That's like saying "Here's a free corvette. You can't go faster than 30mph."
Suggestions, anyone? My specs are as follows:
2.4 GHZ P4
Gigabyte MB
GeForce 6800 AGP
1GB PC2700 RAM
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 zs gamer edition
6.1 logitech speakers
350 GB hard drive, perpendicular recording
