The Swedish gaming website Fragzone has recently selected Half-Life 2 as the game of the year.
The Free-Man has rocked our hearts and our computers again and Valve has secured their position as one of the brightest shining stars on developers heaven for another couple of years.

Would you prefer a weekly round up of GoTY awards? I must admit it is rather tiresome posting a new news post with every single GotY award.
 
Nice. Do you plan on doing a section on this site where you can see all GotYs? Kinda what you did with (a part) of the reviews.

No 'cause this site updates their news too slowly already imho :) There can go days without any new updates. Maybe not the site's fault really but still. Where are Valve with their Steam Updates etc? ;)
 
Just make a list of all the GOTY awards HL2 has gotten so far...and if another goty award is given you can just place it on that list.It would save you time instead of having to do it weekly.

yea, especially from these noname sites or foreign sites with 120 users that no one has ever heard of. Hell halflife2.net should jsut announce hl2 as goty and post that as news, its jsut as valid

I don't think I'm that far from the truth when I say that FragZone is the biggest news site for PC related gaming news in Sweden. So I wouldn't call it a noname site reall :p Just because you americans/whatever do not visit it doesn't mean it's a noname site that no one cares about at all...
 
maybe we could each start a games site, enter hl2 into the game of the year award and then pick it for game of the year.
Half these places i've never even heard of, if all Driverheaven got was 119 votes then it really shouldn't count as an awards program.
 
I give it my official "Game of the Year Award" from Blake's ZealousGames. So put that on your list. haha ;oP

Noname site? 120 User? Damn, start living outside your tiny tissuebox before you even say something.
 
maybe chris could you go over the methodology used in some of these GOTY award decisions? im sure all these sites document and have notes and reviews on all the games that came out in 2k4, i mean im sure they do. I'm sure they all have paid staff, esp that sweedish one, that spends all their time playing and reviewing games as well. i dunno, i don't speak sweedish.
what about some mod news, any of that around anywhere?
 
Their forum alone has more than 12.000 users. And like many others, I merely visit the site to get the latest news, so it's clear that it's a very popular site :)
