Half Life 2 has music!? ARGH! Help?

Ahoyble Goyble everyone

Well looks like ill be playing through HL2 again.. I got right near the end and got stuck, read a tid of a guide for a clue, and noticed a line "here the best music in the game will start!" ..... I havent heard ANY music through the whole game!
I checked my audio settings and music is turned up etc.
I noticed that they seem to have turned off the CD check in the last few patches.. could this be it? I have been playing with no CD in the drive?

I believe the music is on your harddrive as i bought my HL2 on-line so i have no cd and as far as i am aware the 2 versions of the game are identical in everyway so your music should be on the HD. Try to make sure your speaker settings are set correctly or your soundcard is running the most upto date drivers. Can't believe you played through the game without music! God damn i love the atmospheric music that crops up now and then. Good place to test this is when your walk out of the train station for the first time as some nice music plays just as you exit the double doors.

Yeh I got that music, i passed that bit before the patch that removes CD checking, where's the next musical bit do you know?
