Half Life 2 Help

I have a custom PC that I built and before I got to Sandtraps where you see Lazlo dead I never had any problems with water. When I get past Lazlo and the Windmill thing where there's a huge stretch of Sand the water nearby looks terrible. I have all settings maxed except AA on 2x and AF on 2x. The water is on full reflections. Does anyone know a solution?

AMD Athlon64 3700+
2GB RAM
Ati Radeon 1900xt
Soundblaster X-fi
600W PSU

For that first screen, make sure that you've enabled realtime reflections in the advanced Video options. The options are "Reflect All", "Reflect World", and "None". Make sure you at least have "Reflect World" turned on, otherwise you're getting static cube-map reflections, which are terrible.

For the second screen... That's just how Source renders object diffraction through the water. Nothing can really be done about that.
