Half Life 2... I'm stuck.

This probably makes me seem like an idiot, but I am stuck at the point where Freeman is required to board the airboat. The woman raises the doors but I can't get Freeman into the boat. Every time I try (jumping, running, crouch/jump even) he slides off and into the muck. It's driving me crazy! I can't think of anything else to try.

Um. I realise now that I haven't tried using the 'get/pick-up/open' feature. Can't be that surely...

Help?

Have you tried pressing e? You'll get in the air boat automatically.

Thank you... yes, after I realised I'd not tried E I went back and it worked fine. Sorry to be such a pest.
