Okay. I installed Half-Life 2 onto my computer at my other house fine. Everything works, it's all good. I wanted to install it on my computer at my other house. I put in the first disc. Everything goes good. It says to put in disc 2. So I DO. Then, it just sits there and does nothing. The message pops up once more to put Disc 2 in. I keep doing this repeatedly and nothing will work.
PLEASE! HELP ME! My computer isn't recognizing this disc or something. Can someone walk me through some hints or instructions? Maybe I have to work with some controls. Please, reply! Anything will help me at this point. PLEASE!!

Are these discs that you created using the back-up utility? If so, this is notoriously buggy, and just plain doesn't work for some people.

If it's the original discs maybe it has something to do with some Securom copy protection which iirc made the game uninstallable on some cd drives.

The easiest way you could do this is copy your entire steam folder from the computer where it works ok onto a couple of DVD's or a USB drive, or whatever, and then just copy it straight onto your other computer without fiddling around installing stuff.

Another way which I think works is to install steam and then copy over the GCF files of whichever games you want to the appropriate directory.
