...like a star. It became too big, like the red giant stars and it imploded, but I think it'll be a very big supernova, when it hits the stores. Do you think, that despite all the trouble HL2 can still make it through and shine at it's best? Because I've seen a lot of people giving up and forgetting about the whole thing.

There's a flaw in your analogy - supernovae don't last long. I have a feeling HL2 will be around for a while and not just as a neutron. ;)

:) I really don't understand what those people are talking about. I was rather expecting a delay of some kind. The leak was a bit unexpected, but that didn't really cause a lot of trouble, we just have lot's of theives running around the forum posting info we don't want, nor need to hear.

And if it's a big enough supernova, couldn't it collapse into a black hole? You can't see it unless it's feeding, but it's always there.

I think it will be like a hypernova, and make a black hole, causing thousands of new gamers to fall into it, because of it's massive appeal and gaming gravity.

Heh, I like it ;)

I think it will kick. Bah, that's all I can say now. I'm bored.

But then, when it turns into a black hole, we will all become so densly packed we won't have any elbow room. In fact, we won't have any room for anything, ever.

I needs my elbow room!

But really, i think that HL2's modding life will last for eons. I just hope that all these great mods that have already started don't go kaputt. A lot of them have the potential, just not enough interest from the people with the know-how and talent.

This thread is the pinacle a geek-dom

You're on the forum of a PC game that has yet to be released. What do you expect?

Half-life 2 will be like cool breeze with your flies undone.

personally i think hl2 is a mess. we arent clued in on anything up to date, valves gone silent again, this whole delay has dragged us through hell and back more than once...we're all getting restless, tired, and for what...a damn computer game.

haha yeah...but once it does come out i think people will put all the delays and lack of info behind them. At least, i bet i will.

Then it will be revived when HL3 comes out.

"D00d, wTf wH3re'S HL3? Th3y d1D tHi§ w17h HL2 to0!!! OMGWTFBBQ!!?1oen"

Actually supernovae last a VERY long time about 100,000 years (if you count in the shockwaves that excite near by gas and create very hot and bright plasma.) And also the really awesome nebula it makes afterward. I would call that Half-life 2.

Almost every truly great game has been delayed so there is no question in my mind that Half Life2 is going to my rock my world and it's going to own doom3 and all other games that tremble before it... :D

Haha had this as my setinfo in IRC for months!

<siri-> HL2 is like a rainbow, you will never find it or touch it, you can just say "wow that looks cool"

I think what you mean by waiting for a whole month is "waiting since september last year"

If it's gone silent, this means they're working hard. They must be pretty high on morale, because they already see the end of the tunnel. But we can do other stuff than just sit and wait. When it comes, I'll be ready.

They've gone silent before, without that meaning much in the end. Heck, they were silent for years before. :)

I wonder if they will ever give another solid release date, or they are never going to risk it again after the last delay. They might wait til it's in stores before saying it's been released.

The Source engine was designed to be easily modified. So new technologies can be implemented without to much trouble. Looking at how long the Q2 and Q3 engine stayed alive, I say the Source engine can easily compete at the highest level for about 3 years. And that's a minimum. Ofcourse, valve would have to put some time and money in it, in order to keep it up to date :) And we dont if they are going to that yet

Funny sh*t. Hehe, yeah I guess it is, with the astronomy analogies and all.

But wait, I sort liked the whole astronomy thing... :O

the next you will hear about anything involving a release date is when it goes gold.

Too many fanboys on this site that are no near realistic terms.. It's a game. It's not an emotion, not an "experience", nor a feeling. It's a friggin' game. Thus, it'll have flaws like a game. There'll be lots of bugs and unrealistic stuff, but at the moment too many people yell "bleeeeeeeeeeeeeeet it's design desicion not techincal leimitation its becoz of that so ur comp will not go slooow" YEAH SURE if the fire on human beings are shorter than they are now my comp will die or something like that?

The flames are just way too long, makes it very unrealistic and is one of the unrealistic things guarded by people willing to sacrifice their lives for HL2 or something like that.

Whether they give there , OMG its taking to long to get released and its doesnt look as good as other game snow'. speech , they'll buy the game

Poeple that say that are just impatient lil gimps

Must have been really tough waiting a whole month so far....

Don't be so retarded enough to think that the guy has only been waiting since he registered on the forum. Fool.
