Hey-
I just downloaded the Orange Box and am at my wit's end. Half Life 2 used to crash at the initial loading screen but after un- and reinstalling it twice more it gets past that point only to crash to the desktop at in-game loading screens and seemingly random points within the game (usually places where one would expect the frame rate to drop). Also, Portal won't run at all (crashes at the initial blurry loading screen) and Team Fortress 2 crashes when it tries to find a server. I've contacted Dell and they say that my hardware should work just fine but I'll list my stuff anyway:
Dell Inspiron E1505
OS: Windows XP Professional
1.66 GHz Processor (Dual Processors)
1014 MB RAM
Not sure about the video card; all I can find is "Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset Family"
Steam's support is no help and so I'd really appreciate any feedback anyone has.
