Half Life 2 Magical Version

I am having problems with Half Life 2, my problem is that it sticks on the Loading Screen... and doesnt go any further, i was told that i should download the Magical version could anyone tell me where i can get Magical Version ( if it exists )

I think someone was joking when they talked of "magical"versions.

Updating all your drivers might help, it might not.

www.steampowered.com gives some info about needing to update motherboard drivers if you have an AMD / VIA combination but that's all I know about actual official advice on freezing.

Its a magical version because "POOF!" Steam magically dissapears and you can actually play a single player game you paid $50 for....

I think thats what the guy meant.

since this is about version i was just wondering if a international chinese retail version of half life 2's cdkey (original boxed and everything has a publisher that it goes through to go into the country's market) will work if i play in a Western country or will it have any limit as to which servers i can connect to? becase AFAIK steam accounts are global so should the cdkeys be global too?

That's the way I saw it. I posted a complaint saying it was defective which, as far as myself & many others are concerned, It clearly is. Not posted it back yet though. Tried new patch. Same s**t! I'll probably try some stuff on the morrow & then get it in the post. I've had it now!
