Half-Life 2 mapping will not work

Whenever I load Hammer, the default is set to CS:S, and when I go to change it to HL2, it stays as CS:S. There seems to be now way for me to change it. The settings are set correctly.

quick fix.. delete the CS:S settings.

another way... set it to HL2, Apply, close hammer, open again.
if that doesn't work, set it to HL2, Apply, and go File/New.

if none of those work.. try the quick fix

in the tools options, counterstrike will always show up first, because C comes before H. this is irrelevant though in relation to the hammer options. you don't have to have hafllife2 selected in hammer for it to work, just get the settings correct under halflife2. ugh its hard to put my thoughts into words. maybe someone else can clarify
