Well its been five years wait for people for this game, and yes it IS ONLY A GAME. Yet valve has try to stop users from illegal copys by the online reg, and it is working, BUT HELLO you cant ... YOU CANT stop people from breaking the law. You put rules around people and they just break them. Its called being human. some more than others.

Valve now thinks they are in power by stopping these people from copy this game to friends illegal, HEY VALVE its only A GAME! yea you worked five years on it but you where doing it for the people ? no the money! but why stop people playing your game? ive got a copy of your game and yes its wonderful but Remember ITS ONLY A GAME. Companys these days all they want to do is make money. They dont care how they do it as long as they do it.

About this scoure code being stolen? hmm did valve set this up to make users want this game even more so that they could make more money out of users? one way but who i am to say. Its what company dont try these days to care about. They have the power to fly to the moon why not create a game that has just as much rather than five disks of crap and a online reg because there trying to stop users from illegally obtaining this game, but if users really want to they can just download it from IRC for free with the hassel of the steam. Its not to hard. But just like people like me will pay good money if we trust in the company.

Valve has lost many users Trust from the out-take of this game, but what they dont know is that in 10 years my company will gain trust, build great games, cheap, fun, entertaining and hassel free, why you ask? for the people. Not only games but a way to show the world what humans are capable of. You can do anything you put your mind to. Valve created a great game and sucked people in beautiful cant steam "lol blame" them for trying. They where only trying to make money out of something they worked hard for. I give them that.

You people willing to pay for it, or not pay for this just remember its only a game, dont let Companys like this suck you into the votex like most companys do. Where not develped to play games fors hours, but to explore our mind. So after you are finshed enjoying yourself with half life 2, go outside enjoy being alive and create some neat ideas write a story go do something you enjoy outside, because even with all this evil in the world there is good. You never know what the next day will bring, live on everyone. Crackers, Hackers, Valve, The People...

Forget the rest and dont get busted!

You are dumb.

It's not a game to them, it's a career and source of income.

Sounds like someone is pissed their bootleg copy didn't work.

No they don't. And I've no idea what point you were originally trying to make, and I'm not sure you do either :)

if i got your point correctly... you must have the IQ of a napkin. As mentioned, Valve put in a lot of money and effort into this game and it's a source of income for those who contributed to it. Valve produces HL2 for a number of reasons - enjoyment, sense of accomplishment, pride, the fans etc. - but most of all, money! yes, they need money to pay their workers and it's mainly a business. so if people steal, they lose money and that's why they have to stop people from playing for free. no money = no game:thumbs:

does there need to be a point? im not trying to prove points just ideas and relations between each one. Also for entertainment from replys. Yes no life at this point till back to work, what else to do while sitting at computer waiting for reports to finshed the day.

That is true but why have they not dont this earlyer on, and even they try stop people stealing, people always find ways around it. Why in the first place start? yes make it harder indeed. Like to think of a napkin having a higher IQ of me, damm your the 654,945 person to say that, maybe i should take that as a sign.

I see what you mean but wouldn't you agree that it's worth it to enforce this anti-piracy strategy in order for them at least to save some money? They have successfully stopped 20 000 illegal users and thus saved a loss of at least 1 million dollars. 20 000 people x $50 (per copy) = $ 1 000 000. So with every crack, they'll just counter it, and actually force people to buy the game. Even if a fraction of the illegal users get annoyed and buy the game, they would still profit. In addition, not only those people will be stopped and forced to buy the game (if they like it) but many others in the future will also have to pay. So you can see that Valve actually saves A LOT of money with this anti-piracy program.

ok, i guess that was a little harsh. you're smarter than a napkin... unless we're talking about those fancy restaurant napkins.

So, how are valve going to stop teh hundreds of thousands of people who have downloaded non-steam, no-internet-requred versions from Bit Torrent?
How are valve going to deal with craploads of potential customers refusing to buy their products with this idiotic security in place?
There's no way to stop warez, it's a fact of life. But implementing a security feature that not only fails to do it's job, but drives away buyers AND irritates teh people who DO buy teh game is not good for business.
No wonder they're claiming to have "banned pirate accounts" (even though teh pirated versions create no accounts to ban...retards)...they need to justify this whole mess.
The warez groups are LAUGHING at valve, and their customers are cursing them.
Nice security.....lol

I for one think that you should.

Half-Life 2 is more than just a game to Valve, they've spent 60 hour weeks for the past 5 or 6 years working on it. It's an integral part of their life and the source of the income.

They have the right to take action against people who STEAL their game.

True2theword - I think someone is soaking your joints in antifreeze. Be careful! Who knows what else they have planned...

Sorry. Um, seriously though. This game isn't just a source of income for Valve. They've put 6 years of effort and hard work in to it. I think they deserve a little more than for some one to come along and say 'it's just a game'. It's like going up to a director and saying their latest work was 'just a film' and nothing to get worked up over.
