Half Life 2 Problem Please Help

hi im kinda new to this so sorry if i have repeted someone elses thread but here goes i have installed half-life 2 FULL install with cs but when i try to play ether 1 of them it comes up with the please wait screen and then just shuts down the game and resets my pc please help because i love this game it ROCKS...

Specs:
AMD Athlon 3.0ghz
512 ram
80gb hdd
Nvidia GeForce 6500 (PCI Express)
Windows XP Professional SP2

i have the same problem but if i figure it out ill let ya know


the only thing i did do yo help it was totally dust out my pc (fans etc), remove, wipe and put back the RAM sticks. but be careful what your doing in there

First touch a metal object that is connected to the earth to remove any electricity you may have accumulated through rubbing objects. Static electricity pwns computer hardware so make sure you don't have any at all
