When I go to play Half-Life 2, miscellaneous textures will be strewn across the map.
Objects disappear [trains, fencing, etc] & the scenery [forest, sun, etc] Will often double/triple up, and would distort. The sky turns black, and the sun will fade out.
Also in the main menu, it will do the same thing, except the text has disappeared and I have to click around until I find it. And when I do find it, the font is all distorted.
Now, its only the scenery that does this, My first person view is fine.
I pull up console and here is what it is saying:
Found multiple fog controllers in same level
Dead end lnk: pod_player24
dead end lnk: pod_track_R_07
dead end lnk: pod_track_L_08
Failed to load sounds
Bad overlay basis at (0.000000.0000, etc)
warning: usin 'worldtwotexureblend' on a non-displacement surface
Error: material 'engine/occlusion proxy' uses unknown shader.
