Rise, Mr. Freeman.

Chapter 1
Gordon woke up in what looked like a ship's cargo hold. He saw other people sitting along side him, all wearing the same clothes as him, with the same alien writing on their collars. Gordon sat up and looked around the room. He saw one window on the wall. He walked over to it and looked out.
He stepped back and thought that it couldn't be. He looked out once more and saw the same thing below the ship: a city of enormous buildings, all identical. They looked just like the Citadel from City 17. He was on the Combine homeworld. Just as he started to contemplate these events, an explosion rocked the ship. A number of humans broke down the door to the room Gordon was in.
"Go, go, go! Get out of here!", one of the people yelled. They were wearing Combine suits without the masks. The people in the room ran out and Gordon followed them. There was a huge hole in the side of the ship into which the people were jumping. Gordon looked out of the hole and saw another, smaller ship waiting below. He jumped out and barely made it onto the other ship. Meanwhile, another explosion rocked the Combine ship and it exploded mid-air.
Gordon entered the ship and saw about four more people in Combine suits. "You're lucky we found you when we did. They were taking you to the Hive", one of the people commented. "Have a seat, we'll be down in about five minutes." Gordon sat down, unsure of what was going on. A few minutes passed and the ship landed on the ground of the Combine city. The people in the Combine suits quickly ran out. After a few seconds, they signalled Gordon and the others to follow.
They landed in an alleyway, far away from the Combine. They led them to an abandoned building and took them down to the basement. They told Gordon to wait in the basement, while they took the others up. A few moments later, the people in the Combine suits returned and asked Gordon to follow them. They led him even further down, below the basement. They finally reached a dead end. One of the people knocked on the wall and said "Come on out, there's someone here to see you." The wall opened up. Gordon heard a familiar voice. "My god, Gordon. Is that you?"

is that realy hl3??
Probably not. It looks like speculative fan fiction. Pretty good speculative fan fiction though, I wouldn't mind seeing that sequence in HL3.

In response to the Author: Pretty good. I like the atmosphere so far. You could be a tad more descriptive though. Other than that, it's nice.

gonna add the next chapter when I have time. And it's not reall hl3, just what like facehugger said, its speculative.

Chapter 3
"Gordon?", Barney asked. "Is that you? I haven't seen you for so long. Everyone thought you were dead...that is the people that were left." Barney stopped sudenlly. Gordon saw pain in his expression. "After you...saved us, half of City 17 was wiped out. Out of our group, there was just me and Dr. Kleiner left. Alyx and Eli, they..." Barney stopped again, inhaled heavily, and continues. "...they died when the Citadel exploded. We barely survived that year. The winter came all too soon and we were left with shelled out buildings, almost no food, and half the Combine army on our backs."
"But that's the past. I'm sure you don't want to hear about that. You don't have much time. What you do need to know is that we managed to infiltrate the Combine world using the teleportation technology that Dr. Kleiner pulled out of the wreckage of the Citadel. He stayed back at Earth to keep things running smoothly." Barney adopted a darker look on his face. "The teleporter broke and we are stuck here indefinetly. It's a good thing you showed up when you did, the Combine are just about to start another invasion. God knows what planet it is, but it can't be good. The Hive sent out extra soldiers to patrol the streets, so we're stuck hiding in this building."
Barney went over to a nearby console and pushed a few buttons. Dr. Kleiner's face popped up onscreen. "Good god, is that Gordon? He survived? Get him over here, Barney!" the doctor said. "Come over here, Gordon, the doc wants to talk to you", Barney said. Gordon walked over to the console and stared up into the screen. Dr. Kleiner looked much older and he did not look half as well as Barney, who still looked pretty much the same. "Gordon, where have you been all these years? You missed out on so much! Where to begin?" Dr. Kleiner was talking very frantically now. "Doctor, perhaps its best not to talk about this now. Remember what "he" said?" Barney reminded the doctor. "Of course, you're right. Gordon, you have to help us. I know it's asking a lot. Especially of you, the one man who managed to save the world twice over, but we need your help", Dr. Kleiner stated. He shifted back a bit and Gordon could see his lab, now falling into disrepair. Lamar crawled around behind the doctor, now moving very slowly and not being able to jump as high. "Gordon, can you help us set up a teleporter back to Earth? I will send you the schematics and the coordinates, you would just have to build it. I'm sure with your advanced education, you could build something like that. What do you say..." Just before Dr. Kleiner was able to finish the sentence, a squad of Combine soldier burst into the room. "Gordon, run! I'll follow you!" Barney shouted. He grabbed his machine gun and started blasting at the Combine. Gordon ran away from the soldiers, through a door just past the console. Just as Gordon made it throught the door, he felt a heavy object hitting him in the back of the head and he fell to the ground. As he lay on the ground, he saw Barney also lying on the ground, unconsious. A second later, Gordon too slipped into unconciousnous.

Chapter 3
Gordon slowly opened his eyes. His vision was still blurry, but he managed to make out the motionless figure of Barney in some type of tube near himself. Sudenlly, a bright light shined into Gordon's eyes. "Wake up", said a familiar voice. It was the Combine. "You will tell us all you know, now...", a burst of static interrupted the voice. "Yes...of course. I'll be right over there", the voice told his radio. Gordon heard the footsteps of the Combine.
The light shut off and Gordon could see around him. He saw a small brick room with a table and a chair. He was in some kinda of tube like the one Barney was in. He began to look for a way to get out of the tube when a Combine civil patrol soldier walked in. "You're leaving, Freeman. Your freind's coming with you", the soldier told him. The tubes opened up and the soldier caught Barney just as he was about to fall out. He slumped Barney over his soldier and told Gordon to follow him.
The soldier opened up a door and led him out into a hall. The hall was made of a completely different material, some type of dark metal. The soldier led him into a much larger room which had a balcony on the second floor. He placed Barney on a chair and splashed him with a glass of water he found on a nearby table. Barney woke up and said "Ugh, what's going on? Gordon? Where are we?" He looked around and saw a group of unmasked Combine on the balcony. "My god...they got us, didn't they?" Barney inquired. "You, Freeman, tell us where you came from. You were supposed to have died in the explosion in City 17, were you not?" one of the combine asked. "Don't tell him anything, Gordon!" Barney exclaimed.
"Shut up!" the civil patrol soldier smacked Barney with the butt of his pistol. "Tell them, Freeman." he told Gordon. Gordon remained silent as he stared at the unmasked combine. They were disgusting to look at. They looked almost like deformed humans, except with glowing eyes. They had no noses and no ears, except for some holes in their heads. Their skin was a pale grey color. Their eyes glowed a bright blue color. Gordon chose to say nothing to the aliens. "Tell us, Freeman, or do we have to force the answers out of you?" asked the combine speaker.
Gordon chose not to answer the speaker. "Fine, perhaps your friend will yield some answers. Tell us, human, how did Freeman get here when he should have died?" the speaker asked Barney. "I don't know! No one knows!" Barney shouted at him. "Lies" the speaker hissed. "Take them away, maybe their lips will be loosened after they stay in our prison facility", the combine told the civil patrol soldier. Gordon saw another soldier walk up and hit Barney in the back of the head with the butt of his gun just as he felt a sharp sting on the back of his head.

excuse my brutal honesty, but the storyline is, in my opinion at least, waaaay too similar to the HL2 one. The writing itself is pretty good, but the story has the same general progression as HL2.

I don't like it but it's well written.

Have you beat Half-Life 2 yet, and writing from the ending of it? If so, F
RI
CK YOU, B
!
TCH! Sorry, but I don't have Half-Life 2 yet, so I don't want to know the ending at all.

these are pretty good, i had to stop reading though, because i started believing it was actually hl3 lol :D - that should be a compliment though, right?

Good, to bad Eli and Alyx died though :)

But still, good, would be nice to see them on a website of it's own / some packed archive with them all.

Or well, maybe after a few more chapters. Very good writing though, keep up the good work.

whoa neglected this for a while. Thanks for the comments everyone. heres the next part:

Chapter 4
Gordon woke up with an enormous headache. His vision was blurry, but he could barely make out the figure of Barney lying across from him and some Combine soldiers standing around outside. His vision cleared up and he saw he was in a room made out of the dark metal the Combine used for everything. There was only one exit, one of the blue Combine force fields. Gordon got up off his cot and walked over to the force field. He heard the Overwatch soldiers talking about some type of army but he couldn't make out the rest. The soldiers turned around and pushed Gordon back, through the force field. "You'll wait until you're callled" the soldier told Gordon. Barney got up and looked at Gordon. "What happend? Where are we?" Barney mumbled in his barely conscious state. "Shut up in there!" the soldier told Barney. As Barney's vision began to clear up, he clearly saw the room they were in. "Jesus Gordon, we're in the Hive!" Barney gasped. "This is the center of the Combine operations. This is their stronghold, Gordon! And we're inside it" Barney elaborated. Just as Barney was finished talking, a slug like creature, equipped with some kind of gadget around its waist, hovered into the room. It said something to the soldiers and they left the room. "Gordon Freeman" the slug said in a raspy voice. "You've caused us many problems, but I'm sure you won't give us anymore trouble, will you?" the creature inquired. "Of course not" it said before Gordon has a chance to answer. "After all, you are stripped of all your weapons and you are here, in our own base where there are soldiers around every corner. But I'm sure you don't care about any of that, now do you? The reason I came here was to tell you that we recieved all the information we've needed, so we will not need to interrogate you. You will be disposed of shortly, along with your friend. Enjoy the last few hours you have left." the slug finished. "Damn you!" Barney yelled at the slug as it was leaving. "Gordon, I'm sorry I let you down. I should've taken more precautions. Hell, they've probably even taken Earth by now, thanks to my own carelesness. I should have never taken our fight here." Barney told Gordon. "I'm going to try to figure out a way out of here, Gordon. It's the least I can do for you after all the help you've given us." Barney sat back down on his cot and began to think. Gordon sat onto his cot and soon fell asleep. When he woke up, he saw Barney lying on the ground, surrounded by the Overwatch soldiers. "What's wrong with him?" the soldiers asked each other. Barney sudenlly got up and snapped the neck of a nearby soldier. Gordon followed suit and took out another soldier. After they were done, Barney told Gordon to put on the Combine's armor and he did so. With the armor on, they easily walked through the force field. "Follow me" Gordon heard Barney say over their radio connection.

for the next part, I am trying to work in the G-Man, a rhinocerous, and some type of citrus fruit. :sniper: :monkee:
