Half-Life crashing

My Half-Life that i bought o steam yesterday is realy making me mad... i have been playing it fine up untill the 3 headed monster thing...

i made it to the bottom level of the 3 headed monster chamber, and jump thorugh the gaps in the cat walk, and finnayl kill the zombie... i see there is a dorr on the left with a swith next to it so i hit the switch, could of seconds later, game crashes... loops the sound for a while.. then just closes.

i have tried everything in the STEAM knowladge help base, (i think thats what its called) and none of them worked... i even uninstalled my anti virus, but that didnt work...

please help me! iv been a half life 2 and never played half life untill now and this is realy frustrating !

I have no idea of wich part of the game that is and i know people could have helped you if you had been a bit more specific about where and in wich game it is?

Like wich chapter and wich half life are you talking about?

its half life one, the original one not the one with source or anything

i think its the level called blast pit...

im puting a viedo of the game crashing on youtube... its almost done

EDIT: heres the video shows where i am at before it crashes, and the game freezing, freezes at the exact same time after "the loading screen"

Verify game cache.

Right click on Half-Life in the steam games list, and click on properties. Click on the tab "Local Files" and then click the 3rd button down. "Verify integrity of game cache..."

If that's not it, then it's probably a glitch with the video files, is all I can think of... Though I'm not an expert, and that is definately not an educated guess. :|

hmmm... well i realy wanted to play the game so i loaded a save game from a couple minutes before the crash, adn everything seemed to play throgh fin, right past the crash

id like to post a soloution for other people that ever have this problem, but i geuss it was just a glitch
