A few of you may have remembered playing Half-life: Decay on your PS2 version of HL. Many people however, have STILL not played it. Even the most avid of HL fans I know has never even HEARD of it.

Here's the thing. If you haven't played it yet, you are missing out on a big chunk of the storyline. For example, it goes further in-depth about the type of experiments the black mesa scientists were conducting before the big cascade. That's just one example. There are a plethora of small details to be found in the modest little expansion.

I know people here have dissected Opfor, blue shift, and the original HL to the core trying to piece together the story line and make sense of it. I NEVER see any mention of the pieces of the puzzle decay has to offer. How can you expect to figure out the equation with a whole portion of it missing?

Bottom line: it would be a good idea to play and beat decay before HL2 comes out.

since most of us don't have a ps2 or will not play it, can you tell us what happens in hl decay?

I've played through the first three or four missions in co-op with my friend like a week ago. It's pretty fun.

How about we try to piece together the storyline in the most complete and detailed way possible, and you explain everything from decay :)

I'll create a thread....

Sorry, but as much of a Half-Life fan I am, there's no way I'm buying a PS2 just to play another small (probably insignificant) section.

Ehm, I thought Decay was what you played in the Half-Life PC Demo.

I do have a PS2 and I do have PS2 version of HL but I never ever play it.(HL I mean, not the PS2). The regular HL I can have on PC with much better controls and I played Decay for 5 minutes before I got bored.

Known about it, but won't buy a PS2 just to play it once.

heres an idea, e-mail Erik to see if they're planning to put it on steam, pc version

Same. Bugger Decay for only being PS2. Hyped, do you work for PlayStation?
<Booming God-voice>"Thou must play Decay. Even if thou does not owneth a Station of Play ye shall go henceforth and purchase one, plus a shining copy of Half Life and struggle through on a gamepad purely to discover minor tidbits of information. Verily, this is your task. Heed my words."

decay is a coop game put into the ps2 hl1
but instead of playing as gordon u play as two other female employees with hev suit the same as gordon

You're not missing much guys, Decay was crap compared to the real game, it was so bad I just stopped playing it.

They ain't gonna put anything about Decay into Half-Life2 in my opinion, it wouldn't be logical. Hell I'm not even 100% they'll mention anything that happened in Opposing Force or BlueShift.

Not much was revealed from decay that was all that important. Mostly trivial bits. I found it fun though.

everyting will become clear if you play HL2...so why play this one first? let them suprise me :)
