Half-Life going to be delayed for Valve misstake now?

I was just reading trough Gamer.no, and I found this new article today:

It saids that Valve has made another big misstake. The GCF-file along with CS Source almost have the full Half-Life 2 story in it, and it should not be there.

It also saids that we are now waiting for a officially statement from Valve about this.

Will they delay the game now to make a new story for us?

If you think about it, they have not published any data other than in a archived file. If you don't want to know the story then don't look at the file. I don't see what difference it makes having the file now or on release, if you gonna look your gonna look.

As for changing the story, that would be a huge task, I can't imagine they would risk upsetting the community anymore with a delay of this kind.

I think it'll be one delay too many and they'll suddenly see a lot of people just giving up on them completely.

I don't see what the big deal is, its just a story and most players wont care about/understand the story anyway, just in it for the killing things. To delay over a story alone is a bad idea.

The spoilers to Harry Potter books are leaked all the time, never once harmed book sales

Not to mention, if the story really is as good as they reckon, people will still want to experience it for themselves, also the fact most of the story was given away in the souce theft last year, hasn't harmed anything.

Jeez. HL2 is a GAME not a NOVEL, BOOK, or the like.

Just cause it's story is leaked doesn't mean the people know what the ACTUAL game has to offer. There is a difference between seeing and reading.

How is it that the LOTR movies were so famous, even when the books were there from long before and almost everyone knew what the story is - because seeing the actual thing is much better than reading the books.

Well not that it really matters to me but yeah it's kinda sad to know that a lot of the players will just rush through HL2, skip the dialogues, and try to beat it in a record time. I still see every now and then some guy asking about HL1's story and plot, a lot of people still haven't played it
