Hugh Laurie and Lucy Liu are too old. I can't see Morgan Freeman, Christopher Walken or Dennis Hopper matching their respective roles very well. Cate Blanchett and Sid Haig I haven't seen in action before so I can't judge.

Also Connery as Breen:

Nah, I don't think Connery is suited to a character as inactive as Breen. Breen is this scrawny intellectual who communicates with the people via detached aristocratic broadcasts, not like the characters Connery usually plays at all (well except for the aristocrat part).

Yeah, I was lazy with the first three (they're the actual voice actors from the game), but I don't see any of them couldn't play them in a film. Michelle Forbes at least I know has done screen acting before (Star Trek: TNG), Mike Shapiro (from his photo in Raising the Bar) actuallys looks l little like Barney and Lou Gossett's job wouldn't be much different from his job acting for HL2.
