In no way do I want a Half-Life movie... But if there was, who would you want as the actors?
I caught up on this at eurogamer's little forum, and decided to bring it over here.

anyone else thinks this game begs to be turned into a Hollywood blockbuster? only problem: you would have to show Freeman. and who could play him?


EDWARD NORTON = Gordon
Matthew Broderick = Barney
Doctor kenner (forgot his name) = A bald Robbin WIlliams (I can't of anyone who would be decent palying him)
Eli = ?Denzel washington? ?lawrence fishburne? Can't think of anyone for him either.
Alyx = NOT Halle Berry. if they did. I would go hl2 on their asses.
dr breen = ?joe pantoliano?
hmmm.... who else, and if you can think of anyone better for any of these characters, feel more than obliged to correct me~~~~~

rdexter - Actually... I was thinking Al Pacino for G-Man... :D And Bill Cosby for Eli Vance. Great thinking! I just can't think of a decent actor/actress for
Mossman - Kate Mulgrew (the woman off that one star trek, but she's kinda short, isn't she?)
Breen - I still haven't thought of a decent person

Eli could be done by that actor who voiced him, Robert Guillaume. And the voice would be identical!
 
i wouldnt want gordon to be in a half life movie
id like to see it from another persons's view trying to escape
this way, you don't have to follow gordan like you did in the game
more room for different stuff
 
Bill Cobbs - mirror reflection of Eli

The voice of Alyx (Merle Dandridge) could play Alyx if they couldn't find someone who looks more like her :D
 
Dennis Hopper is a shoe-in for Dr Breen. Hes totally perfect for the roll.
 
Half Life could make an okay movie if it's in "movie-series" form,
IE: The Stand
 
Charlie Sheen in The Arrival is a dead ringer for Gordon Freeman, I would use him. I'd get the guy who played Agent Smith and the king of the Elves in LOTR be the G-Man.

Somehow I see Leslie Nielsen as the clumsy doctor. As for Dr Breen, How's Christopher Walken or Donald Sutherland?
 
christopher walken is too old looking for the gman. plus it'd have to be someone who could do his voice
 
there was a thread a few days ago about this, but it doesn't matter.

I would cast the guy who did the voice of Eli Vance as Eli Vance... don't remember his name, but he looks EXACTLY the same as Eli and obviously sounds the same. He was the executive guy in Sports Night, a great comedy show from a few years ago.

Christopher Walken is who I had in mind for the G-Man as well... he's just perfect for it.

Barney... that's difficult. Can't think of that now.

Same with Gordon, can't see who would play him... it would be weird seeing Gordon anyway, wouldn't feel like Half-Life.

Now, for Alyx, I want to say Kirstin Dunst because she is soooo hot, but that wouldn't work at all. I really couldn't cast anyone for her.

I was also gonna say Christopher Walken :) Donald Sutherland is too old though.
 
Edward Norton would be great for gordon.
 
I can see Edward Norton playing as Gordon but the only thing is that his voice is too high for what I have always pictured freeman as having.
Colin Farrell as Barney?!? hahahalololol, the only reason they picked him is because he did the SWAT movie. Matthew Broderick would be perfect.
As long as VALVe keeps a close eye on the production and script and not let the license go to crap (Unlike the horrid Doom movie in-production)...then I am thumbs up for this movie and can't wait.
 
they should do it like the final fantasy movie in 3d cgi and have the voice actors from hl2 do it, it would probably be better that way and people would see that 3d cgi doesnt just need to be cartoony. also it would bring the hl story to more people
 
A CGI Half Life movie would be genius. Just as long as the plot has something to do with the half life universe ;).

but what about the combine? who would play as the combine metrocops/soldiers/guards AND the striders? who is going to play as the zombies?! ;)

CGI sounds like the best way to make the movie, I wouldnt want a movie though...

David Duchovny! lmfao...he'd be great but he's a little too tall. I'd still go with Matthew Broderick as Barney. As for Eli...Danny Glover, man! C'mon!

it would be so lame to ruin his mistery:)

besides gordon is every one of us...he is what we 1st thought of him not what an actor makes of ascript written on a paper...it will not work

then just add special efects and stuff to make it look more real

im sure if there is a hl movie they would make some changes ie give gordon lines to say... as long as whatever he says fits the situation

I hate to get off of the topic in my own thread.... but FM 99 rocks. Except for Sonja. Mike & Bob on 96X rock them more.

Oh, and I concur with that link given that the guy from The Professional should be gregory. even if he isn't 100% the same stature/body composure.
 
So many of these I don't think we need yet another, especially when all the posts and suggestions are exactly the same.
