which was more cool! 1) the beggining: when your experiment went crazy, stuff blew up and saw the first aliens..! 2) the end: when you learnt some more plot and met the g-man up close and personal!

i thought the beginning was cooler cause I didnt know what was happening at first. And you see the aftermath of the experiment gone wrong.

Its gotta be the beginning...its revolutionary! The end was good and had some great plot points, but finished on a cliffhanger and didnt reveal too much. I think the start of the game has to be one of the best introductions to a ever, perfectly done and not in a cut scene, when you start in the tram theres so much to take in. In the test chamber it was just as good, the resonance cascade graphics were damn good at the time and theres still something eerie about the brief teleportation to the voltigaunts with the heavy breathing....
