Sorry if this is already been answered, but i haven´t found
anything on this, is it possible to play hl source in offline mode
like HL 2 or do you have to bee connected to i-net.
Just wondering because im sitting with a 56 modem.
If offline mode is available maybe i´ll buy collectors edition too.

I have a 56k modem. I can play HL2 offline. You do not have to be conected to the net all the time.

I had so much fun playing Cs:S before. 24 - 6 :). 56ker Ownage.]

Im sorry to say, but if you havn't dled a 150 - 300 meg file you are a disgrace to us 56kers :(.

HL 2 isn´t the problem i bought the retail copy nov16 and played
it in offline mode, but can you do that with hl source also?
Then maybe i buy collectors ed.

coll. edition isnt really worth it, unless you are really needing a black tshirt...

Thanks!

Thanks for your replies! how about cs:s is it mp only or is it playable in single player like condition zero and how about offline mode?

Tomorrow is Elvis Presley´s birthday he is still a King.

CS:S is an online only game (or LAN). It can be played in Offline mode, for Lanning, but unless your hooked up to someone elses PC you'll in it alone.

So yeah, CS:S has no 'single player' like CZ.

I've asked about this already, but either no-one knows the answer, or no-one is willing to share it with me. However, since I'm stubborn, I'll ask again: does anyone know if there's any way of getting HL:S along with Blue Shift and OpFor without having to buy the game all over again?? I bought the standard game (HL2 and CS:S), but I would really like to play BS and OpFor... Oh, and just for the record, before some people assume that I'm talking about warez: I mean LEGALLY get BS and OpFor. As in: buy it, without having to spend 80$ on the Gold Steam Pack.

HL:S isnt capable of running Blue Shift or Opposing force. If you want to play these games your going to need to run them off the original version of HL, not the Source version.

If you have a store-bought copy of Half-Life just regester your CD-Key with Steam. Steam will then allow you to download Opposing Force for free. As for Blue shift, well the only option is to buy the Blue Shift package, which comes with Opposing Force anyway.

I order to get HL:S you will need to either buy the Collectors Edition Retail of HL2, or buy the Silver Package off Steam. As far as I'm aware you cant get HL:S as a standalone product, screwing you over.

But as I said before, if you think you can run the HL expansion packs Opposing Force and Blue Shift whilst using the upgraded Half-Life: Source, your wrong, they need to be ran off the original Half-Life.

If you dont HAVE the Original Half-Life you wont be running either of those expansions any time soon.

Thanks, EC. I do have the original HL, but I've never heard of getting OpFor for free... Guess you're never too old to learn something new :cheese:
