half life2/cs issues

hello,

i just bought this game and already im wishing i never had
first of all i run on a athlon 64 3200 cpu, an ati radeon 9800,
1 gig ram (ocz), and a msi kt8 neo motherboard
far cry runned perfect, rome total war runs perfect

when playing half life 2 i get these flickering squares all over my
graphics on characters faces on the walls sometimes they disappear but half the time they there

im unable to assign my arrow keys as controls whenever
i wanna choose shift is assigned as a key instead

and lastly i cant connect to any server it takes ages
and when i want to leave the program i have to reboot

so no half life and no cs for me i payed 60 euros for a bunch of crap

Have you installed the newest ATi drivers? 4.12? They fix alot of the corruption problems.

I had problems to before I installed the new drivers...

actually i uninstalled new drivers from here http://www.omegadrivers.net/ a friend of mine recommended it (he has a computer shop so i guess i could trust his advice)

So you've already tried 4.12 drivers?

Card overheating?

Flickering sqaures definatly sounds like a heat issue or a card issue.

well it seems to be solved now with installing the new driver

and no i havent installed the 4.12 just the omega
