I was wondering if HL2 will have a loading screen similar to the first games where it's really small and non-intrusive unlike the steam skin popping up and loading like in the steam version of HL

I wonder if they will include a transparency steam skin that allowed this so it takes you out of the game as little as possible... i wonder if someone has made a transparent skin like this already you can use with steam

i just hope that they redesign what it looks like with HL2

I've never had the Steam skin pop up during loading in-game. ???

I do... i least when i play opposing force and stuff its in the middle of the screen and says "verifying resources, precaching..." etc... on the load spots in the level

So do I. I've heard of people saying it does and doesn't, it's really wierd.

do you guys know of a "transparent" skin for steam?

It also blackens the screen when it loads

if you "steamify" the game ie download it and play it off steam you will get the steam stuff

I hope so.. because I went and played They Hunger the other day through steam, and that came up every 5 minutes. It hurt the game play. But I guess since this is a whole seperate game, it will have a whole seperate loading screen, no? I mean it's not like it pops up for Codename: Gordon. :)

Codename Gordon isn't a real Steam game, not like Half-Life and Half-Life 2 are. Anyways, really the "Loading" box appearing between levels is a bug. The CS players wanted to see the loading box between maps, and it broke the single-player Half-Life by making it appear.

I doubt we'll see it in HL2, because it's a bug they'll actually bother to fix.
