Half Life2?

I would like if you could give me your opinion's, on what i should do?
I have just discovered that my cusions have just obtianied an illeagal version of HL2.
As a legal owner, myself i can appreciate the effort that valve have put into the game, and continuing effort to maintain it!
So, when it recieve a txt from them saying they got HL2.
I sent them the IP to one of my favouite servers for HL2 DM, but i got a reply that it was illegal !
I was furious as to why they purchased an illegal one, to save a few pounds.
Jes, you can get a steam activation number pritty cheap from ebay now a days.
SO what next, inform valve of this, and get them permanently banned from any future steam products or force them to at least stop using the illeagal copy and purchase one?
Your advice would be very much help!

I'd say that you should make your chump of a cousin goto play.com or something and buy it for £15. Its not that much really and considering they are adding games and stuff all the time, its a good deal. And I agree with mineral, this should really be in general chat or something.

So your really suggesting, that they purchase a brand new copy of HL2 from play.com as duffers20 suggested!
A friend from work has bought an account, from ebay as his original account was VAC Banned, for cheating.
And stil has no problems with it!

I spotted a limited edition box of HL2,
It was in my local game shop for £25 ! "specail offer"
Its contents were Silver aliuminum box, HL2, SC:S, HL:S, Free lambada T-shirt,
"think that was it"
Considering getting it for myself, or cusin!

I'd say just let them go, no one likes tattlers and I'm fairly sure every one of us uses at LEAST 1 pirated copy of something even it's like a dollar to buy. My copy of Doom3 isn't quite legal. I bought HL2 though so no one here can be like "grrr, gweedodogg sucks cause he didn't buy HL2". I bought it cause I KNEW it was going to be a great game and Valve is a great company.
