Hi,

Think it would be great if halflife2.net started a clan league for the popular HL2 mods, starting with CS:Source (released next week).

I realise this would probably be a massive task but I'm sure loads would be willing to help admin if needed, myself included.

Would also provide another reason to return to the site once HL2 is released.

Great idea. Not perhaps a full scaled clan league, depends on how many clans are up for it, but perhaps more of a small-team league where two or three friends could form one "clan", just a temporary thing with a fun name and it'd be that kind of clan league. That way more people could join in and it'd become alot less serious and thus more fun. I guess Munro could pull something out of his ass as reward :E

Sounds like a fun idea :) I'd participate.

Yeah, something like that I think I'd enjoy... :)

I've actually played some CS the past couple days in anticipation of next week. :O

sounds cool. CS roxors. once i get a computer that'll run CS:Source, I'll def. be here.

Count me in. We should have someone design a tag ([hl2.net] <-- something better). Anybody up for the task?

The tag is [Halflife2.net], Icarus already explained why we can't use [HL2.net], that website is owned Sierra apparently.

And yeah, count me in :)

Count me in as well. A great idea :) Now all I need is to change my ISP.

Well I sure hope there won't be a limit on nicklength for Source-based games then, 'cause "[Halflife2.net]theGreenBunny" is rather long.

I was thinking of a pernament league with around 4 divisions..prem, div 1, 2 and 3 but no prizes (to stop people taking it too serious).

Getting clans signed up shouldn't be a major problem with the amount of traffic this site gets, if not many sign up for the first season then a few clans per division would still be fine.

As for the Halflife2.net tag, you wouldn't really need one except your clan tag.

I dont think you could get those 4 divisions, HL2.net is a worldwide site and so would have to have seperate leagues for different parts of the world due to latency issues. Someone from England playing someone from the US for example is just not playable.

Euro league sounds good but that would be up to halflife2.net staff...not sure where the majority of their traffic comes from.

Expect a Halflife2.net League as well as a ongoing ladder for clans to compete in once CS-Source is released. I'm hoping for US, European and UK only tournaments.

I'de be up for it :D

Just dont expect me to be the best :E

And by clans, do you mean:

1) groups of members going at it with each other

or

2) one hl2.net clan against other clans

I think the former would be better, personally :)

would be groups (clans) I think.

If it's ready soonish it could be massive :)

reviving an old thread I know, but any updates on this Munro? Would be great :P

I'm waiting for CS-Source to actually run properly and have some anti-cheat protection.
