Vivendi, Activision and especially EA could easily afford TV spots. They just aren't usually done.

I've seen commercials for The Sims and Call of Duty. But that's about it. While it would be nice to see some HL2 TV ads, I don't think they are very necessary. Anybody who is a PC gamer probably knows all about HL2.

I have an idea

They show the beggining of the E3 2004 Vid that had the G-man saying

"Rise and shine Mr Freeman... Rise and... shine. Now that I wish to imply you have been sleeping on the job, no ones more deserving of a resssst and all the effort in the world would of gone to waste until... Well... Lets just say your hour has... come herrre. So wake up, Mr Freeman. Wake up and smell the ashes"

While people are thinking 'wtf?.' you just show a few minutes of gameplay and then conclude the commercial with...

"That's all for now. The right man in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world... I will see you up ahead"

And thats it

Quite foolish don't you think? It is kinda like the E3 Vid without CS:S and less action

You could even just have a second or 2 with the G-man smiling but make it sudden so it kinda catches you off guard

They should do an advert where it is just the G-man talking (no face) and then the HL2 logo would appear.
