Halo 2 theme music rocks!

Halo indeed had kickin music, with the exception of one or two tracks.
 
Woah, that really is some kick ass music, a more gentle tone than Halo 1 themesong.
 
Rocks? It was like he fell asleep on the keyboard, woke up, played a bit, fell asleep.....

Hehe.....well, I didn't mean that it "rocks" literally. I just meant that it was really good.
 
halo 2 music is some of the best ive ever witnessed in a game. the last level was truly bewildering, but with the triumphant halo music playing in the background the experience was bolstered.

i love halo music, this gentle tone is definately something i would be at peace lustening to at 5 in the morning. thats the time when i generally start to think how trivial my life is, and how this pathetic existance is nothing but a cage that secures my imagination in this discusting, stench of a body we call "human". whoops, sorry i went over the top there :D i guess this music really IS depressing... i like it :)


p.s. im really lively at school, its only at night i turn into some depressed, suicidal dark goth. meh.

*edit* if linked in with the right story (someone dying, the mastercheif sacrificing himself for the human race, or the humans getting crushed under the inevitability of the covenant overwhelming power) this could make me cry.... *sniff* ;(

i really ****ing hope halo2 has a sad ending...

THIS MAKES ME WANT TO PLAY MGS1 AGAIN AND LEST MERYL DIE... GOD THAT WAS SAD... ;( same goes for final fantasy 7 when aries died....

the nuances of that song are actually pretty mind boggling, that is really great music. the relationship of the bass, tenor, and 'soprano' parts are all outstanding thanks for posting this.

Halo always had great music, it was really fitting and very unique. I like that the main menu music is more restrained than the original's. Day by day, the urge to just buy an Xbox and get this game grows larger and larger. :p
 
Have you heard the track "rememberance" from the original? One of the best pieces of score I`ve ever heard, along with Hilary Hahns performance in "The Village" soundtrack.
 
Ya I would have to say halo has some of the best music in a videogame I have ever heard. The metal Gear solid series would be the other. I hope they release a soundtrack for halo 2. A lot more videogames coming out are starting to put more effort into the sound of the game. This music does sound a bit said though so I guess its hinting to a sad part of the halo story line. I really hope that halo 2 is the end of the halo series though because I dont want to see halo 3 on xbox 2 but instead something new and original from bungie. All good stories must come to an end.

Anyways this music reminds me of Band of Brothers and some other world war 2 movies.
 
That piece of music isnt anything special. Metal Gear Solid music was good but the Final Fantasy VII has the best music i've ever heard in a game.
 
There is going to be a Halo 2 sound track released November 9th, and there is also a sample of the CD online.

i agree with everything you said except "that music isnt special". to me this music IS special, but MGS and FF7 have much better music.

Click on Launch Listening Station, then choose a song. Listen to every one. Halo 2 will have the best music in a video game, I don't care what you think. :P

Ghosts Of Reach, Heritic Hero, and The Last Spartan are all outstanding. I have yet to listen to the others.

In Amber Clad is awsome too.
 
Where could you get the Halo and Halo 2 soundtracks? Is it one of those things you can only find on the internet? I'm a soundtrack aficionado.


Also, compared to other games, I'm not too impressed with the music for Half-Life 2. HL2's music sounds like some cheesie ass low-budget schtuff from a Sci-Fi feature film.
 
Wow, that is a kickass soundtrack. they seemed to keep kinda the same sound to all the songs.

Dalamari, I think the reason that song is on the soundtrack is because the intro is clearly inspired by the Halo theme music.

[edit] Am I the only one who's reminded of The Legend of Zelda when listening to "Peril"?
 
listening to the soundtrack now :) i could copy it to my X-box, then listen to it in the background while playing H2... I COULD BE LISTENING TO 2 HALO 2 SONGS AT ONCE, one from the Game and the other from the CD! genius!

Ya well I think Im going to buy those logitech z-5500 for my computer and then also use them for my xbox. There $100 discounted at a local store right now. :)
 
If it wasn't from Halo 2 nobody would be batting an eyelid. ;)

As of right now Halo 2 has the second best soundtrack ever (1st comes Deus Ex :E)
 
Yeah pretty good actually..but it reminds me of some movie soundtrack..
 
Whoa "Ghosts of Reach" is Rememberance but with more atmosphere.
 
So I guess I'm the only one that doesn't like it?

I even downloaded it TWICE because so many people thought highly of it..but I didn't like it that much.

I like the original Halo theme way more.
