I'm sure that's the rifle from the original Halo, not the one from Halo 2. I wonder why they got rid of the other one.

Episode 2 is part of half-life 2.
Halo 3 is NOT part of halo 1.
Therefore, your stupid comparison fails... idiot.

Also, assault rifle AND battle rifle will be in H3.

Surely it's being used to make them think the actual battle is like a game, so they don't get as scared? lol

The old battle rifle is definately back then.. um if no one else is going to say it then I will.

I knew of a guy back in 03 who would always play CSS from in Iraq...they get fun alot more than we think...lol Gotta wind down somehow.

I'm glad the old assault rifle is back. The battle rifle was pure shite.
 
The new rifle sucked ass. Thank god they've brought back the old one :)

What are you talking about? Halo 3 is PART of Halo 1.

XIII had responded to the point that Halo 3 looks like Halo 1 by saying HL2 looks like HL2:Ep2.

Que-Ever was simply pointing out why that shouldn't be. Hl2 and Ep2 are basically the same..same(although quite improved) engine and similar target specs.
Halo 3 however has a much different target specs and a new engine compared to Halo 1.

I completely understand why Halo 3 looks like shit and hell it is a good thing. Epic was talking about how before you even make a model you have to know 100% that it will be included because it simply takes so long to make and perfect. What Bungie is doing is using some low-poly models to gather the gameplay and entire game togeather. Once they have an amazing game put togeather, then they will focus on eye candy.

Bungie here is looking at gameplay first and eye candy second.
 
I don't see where people are getting that this looks shit. It looks great to me.

They were talking about engines and... stuff. Episode one is the same engine as HL2. I have no idea what halo games use what engines, but Halo 3 is probably gonna be pushing for "best looking game of" whatever year, but doing tha would be like saying halo 1 is the best looking game of the same year :|

Maybe it was just Halo CE ported to the box and made to have that Halo 3 logo screen
 
Oh for the love of god dont let this turn into another "LOL GUYZ HALOZ SUCKS :D" thread.
 
Obviously Halo 3 is going to utilize the graphical features of the Xbox 360 that they were unable to on the Xbox, but the game still looks almost exactly like the original Halo as far as models and so forth go. I'm not even saying that is a bad thing, but it isn't a very wild observation. There is really no point in calling someone an idiot over it. Halo has a very distinct, very clean look, and it is really a matter of taste. I personally think Bungie needs to work their creative juices a little more going into the next generation, but that is just me.

Anyway, none of that even really matters. Halo 3 isn't being sold on its graphics. What I am hoping for is a very reliable, very supported Xbox Live online game. The singleplayer in shooters today is more or less like an afternoon of entertainment. Halo 3 needs some awsome multiplayer.
 
I really love the rifle, and I'm very pleased its making a return.
 
I never really liked the old assault rifle, I think I'll miss the new one, for the most part anyway. Unless of course, they make it good. ^____^

About the graphics: You've been told multiple times about Bungie's development that being that in the alpha stages (Where they currently are) graphics means nothing and we've seen the announcement trailer and that is in-engine. Hell, you can watch the behind the scenes video and it shows them in that trailer in real time zooming the camera around, etc.

Get over it till they leave alpha stage, at least.

Does anyone know what date they were in the sort of alpha development phase for Halo2 ?
