I have an ATi Radeon 9800, and get the following error when trying to launch my newely aquired copy of the game... (image attached).

Can anyone help?

Looks bad. Make sure HW acc is all the way up.

a few options to fix it. easiest is to add -vidmode 1024,768,85 (replace with your resolution+refresh rate) to your halo.exe shortcut.

second option is to right click the exe and goto properties and run the exe in win98 compatibility mode.

third option is to uninstall any type of refresh fix you might have installed.

Thanks a heap Xtasy0, I added -vidmode 1152,854,100 to the command line and Halo now launches, w00t.

Hey rec! Halo owns, do you play online multiplayer?! Whats your Handle?

I played it online for about 90 minutes, and never intend to again. :)

They were the longest 90 minutes of my life, could a multiplayer game be more mundane or any slower? The single player doesn't phase me.

In fact, I think I'll uninstall it and exchange it for another game.

Ive seen this trouble before... Ive heard its very easy to fix just as Xtasy0 said... Just get into "properties" on the Halo shortcus and check the box where the compability text is and choose win 95... =)
(cant believe that Bungie made this kind of big miss when they were converting Halo.. Maybe they where desparete of time?? =)

Nungie didn't do the conversion.... I belive it was gearbox....

I get the same error - sweet, I'll try the vidmode switch tonight
