This problem getting progressively worse for me with every solution I try. When I logged into Steam today I couldn't access my game tab, because it seemed to be stuck while "checking for game updates". I closed Steam, started it up again, but Steam got stuck before it could even log in. I had to close Steam via the Task Manager. After that I removed everything from my Steam folder except the Steam apps folder and the .exe. Still the same problem. As a last resort I decided to uninstall Steam and reinstall it again, but now the program crashes as soon as I start it. What the hell?
EDIT Finally got it to work. Removed everything from the Steam folder again except the .exe. Downloading CoH, TF2 and TMN now. fml.
