Lewis Hamilton is Britain's first F1 World Champion since Damon Hill back in 1996. He has overcome what some call unfair stewards decisions and has managed to control his driving style enough to come through and win the title.

Personally I am a bit gutted that Massa didn't win, he was so close to getting it, but unfortunately for him Hamilton was able to overtake Glock on the last corner at Interlagos :O

That was so tense at the end, was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was happening :O

While I think Hamilton is a deserved champion, I don't think he is the best pure driver on the grid, that has to go to Alonso or Kubica, two drivers who were able to bring the best out of their cars which were nothing compared to what Massa and Hamilton had.

Regardless, thoughts on the past F1 season, post them.

That was an amazing finale, after missing out from a few troubles at the end of the last campaign Hamilton rightly deserved to be champion. He's had a really tough year with a load of racist abuse. I was certain it was over but when I saw T Glock get that 2nd to last corner wrong it was incredible. Did you see Ferrari jumping up and down because they thought they had won? Massa looked gutted, I feel a bit sorry for him especially the last race being in Brazil but meh...British champion ftw :D

edit: Moment Ferrari realise...they actually lost.

that's why I don't get excited about stuff, because it could very well turn out not to be what you expected and then you just look stupid.

I loved the suspense ! Congrats, UK !

My eyes couldn't believe the sight of Glock's dry-tires failing on the final turn...

Yep, the post-race Ferrari garage-shots were priceless. The poor dears.... They snagged the Constructor's championship, so they can't feel too damaged by Hamilton's great season.

During pre-race, Eccelstone had the nerve to say: "Lewis has been unlucky... "

Yes same, there are a few exceptions, but I've realized being passive and feeling passive about such things avoids extreme disappointment or embarrassment.

Kimi > everyone, tbh ;)

but man, what a disaster this season was for him. By far the worst season of his entire career. No doubt he'll come back stronger next year. Anyway, since Kimi was out of the title fight, I was happy that it was Hamilton who won it. They're my favourite two drivers.

And also, what the hell was up with Kubica at the final laps when he overtook Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel even though he wasn't even on the same lap? I think he tried to deliberately destroy Hamilton's race because that's when Hamilton lost a position to Vettel.

He was so much faster than Hami and Vettel cos of his tyres, if he could get past them as easy as he could, then hell why not? He may have had the chance to overtake a few guys ahead of him. No foul play there

I lol'd at Ferrari

 Silly Italians
