Hammer crashes on load depending on game

Its totally wierd I maped yesterday in hl2dm mode then later couldnt start hammer in same mode got very despondent stay up late reading forums, then thismorning I start it in hl2 mode and I am mapping. I will keep going for a bit cos I want to get my map done for the comp, I am afraid when I go back to hl2dm mode I wont be able to map again. It did this to me once trying to do a css map. I get the send report error then I get the could not read memory at etc etc error as it says goodbye no mapping for you

I have done reset games many times and used the vconfig also. Hmmmmmm.

try reinstalling, and have u decrypted all the files that u have preloaded? that happened 2 me before but now its sorted.

Try these two things:
